LeeAnn & Nolan tied the knot

We are thrilled to announce that we are officially husband and wife!

We exchanged our vows in an intimate courthouse ceremony in Austin, Texas on July 27th, right after jumping into the freezing water of Barton Springs Pool, the spot of our first date seven years-ish* before.

OUR STORY

The Slow Burn

Like most millennials, we swiped right on the dating apps! However, we first met in-person a year and a half after our first “match”, with Nolan dressed in a tuxedo and a few drinks in. He was attending a black tie gala that LeeAnn was professionally photographing.

We locked eyes across the room, knowing that something was familiar about each other. After a quick conversation and a hug, LeeAnn felt sparks but was pretty sure Nolan wouldn’t remember the encounter the next day. (“I did!” —Nolan)

Another month passes by and we were both walking through Downtown Austin, event-hopping through SXSW (an annual Austin festival). Nolan was once again looking dapper, this time in a trash bag that he was using as a makeshift poncho during a rainy Saturday afternoon.

What were the chances of bumping into each other once again so soon? It felt like the universe was trying to tell us something…so we listened and started planning our first date! After months of texting and busy travel schedules in the summer of 2017, LeeAnn was planning a camping trip with friends that were all couples, so she invited Nolan to join her. He agreed (!!)—up until the very last moment when he had to cancel. The universes plans would have to wait just a little bit longer. Annoyed-ish, LeeAnn went solo and was a fifth wheel. She slept horribly in a hammock that night and doesn’t let Nolan forget it.

Finally, a week later, the official first date happened! It was hot, sunny and the perfect day to truly get to know each other at Barton Springs Pool. The rest was history! We moved into our first apartment together a year later and rescued Kobe shortly after that. We’ve since bounced around to three different apartments before settling down with our first home together in San Antonio in 2022.

*Epilogue

We purposely chose to go to the courthouse on July 27th as that was what we thought would be our seven year anniversary. Turns out, we celebrated a few days too early! As LeeAnn was drafting our story, checking the facts and referencing a calendar, it turns out that that sunny Sunday was actually July 30th. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Thank you for your continued love and support as we jump into the next chapter of our lives.
